One of the most colorful stock certificates in existence, Lion Country Safari, issued 1980, with a great vignette that covers the entire certificate of lions approaching a car. This was the company that started the Drive Thru Zoos. They are no longer in business; they sold off their parks throughout the country (the Lion Country Safari currently operating in Florida is not connected with this company's cert, the Florida company was sold off many years ago and is privately held). The original company kept the park in Southern California, but eventually closed it down and got rid of all their animals. The property was turned into a children's camp. How do I know so much about this company? I had lunch with the president several years ago and he gave me a history of the company. When this stock used to trade on NASDAQ, the symbol was GRRR.
